Winter has come on schedule this year to the Catskills. There was a trace of snow on the ground for the beginning of hunting season (I don't hunt), and lake-effect snow has been blowing around for the past few days now. With less than three weeks to go, a white Christmas seems to be a sure thing. It will be nice to see 32 degrees again, but that won't happen for awhile. I had to wash the truck the other day, and one side froze before I finished cleaning the other side, but it's worth the effort. Donna just took the big guy out now, and he'll come back covered with road dirt again, but we have to use him again tomorrow, so it will be another day or two before he gets cleaned again.
We have two appointments tomorrow, separated by a few hours, so hopefully a stop at the Chinese buffet will be possible. Most of the Christmas shopping is done, so tomorrow will be mainly groceries. The stuff I'm giving Donna is being delivered, but what came already has been wrapped and sits under the tree. Speaking of which....The decorating is done too. We've been running our tails off, but it's almost time to relax. The semester ends for Donna on 21 December, but most of her major assignments are complete, or close to it.
I don't have any snow pics yet, but here's the tree....
Well, Ok, that isn't "the" tree, that's the kitchen tree. Here's the real thing....
Now that the work is done it's time to start thinking about what to have for Christmas dinner. I tried to cook a goose one year, but it was too tough to cut, so that's out. Maybe a standing rib roast! Can't go wrong with that, except that maybe Donna prefers it too well done. I guess she could have the ends, or maybe we could have another damned turkey! Yum...more turkey soup. The soup wasn't bad. Neither was the turkey for that matter, but I just can't get into having days of left-overs again. Oh well, there will be at least one more shopping trip after tomorrow, so we have some time to decide.
I hope your Christmas plans are going well, and as always...

We don't have ours up yet, we've been too busy working on outside decorations.
We had Monday and Tuesday off from school because of the snow, and more snow coming tomorrow night, yay!
Have you considered boiled dinner? With ham? That's what we have for Christmas.[SMILE]
Enjoy the snow, I'm sure the "best" is yet to come! [SMILE]
Just one question (which actually has some embedded advice) . . . WHY do you fixate on FOOD so much ? I mean, almost everyone enjoys eating but, with the horrible scourge of obesity and it's associated diseases, wouldn't you be doing your audience a service by dedicating a more moderate amount of time on the subject of food ? Just a helpful, humanitarian suggestion.
With love and concern,

Have a great holiday.[SMILE][HEART]
I think the standing rib roast is a really great idea. Mashed potatoes, brown gravy, and peas and yams. Yep... my mouth is watering. And... walnut or pecan pie for dessert. I'm buying a plane ticket to your house for Christmas. lol
Happy Holidays to you and Donna.[THUMBUP][THUMBUP][HEART]
