This story surfaced a few days ago. It's something that would usually be laughed-off, but that's not a wise reaction. Some of what certain groups have proposed and supported recently is frightening. First, let a picture speak a thousand words--this is from my photo gallery...

The popular trailer hitch decorations started appearing a few years ago. Sold under names like Truck Nuts, Bull Balls and Truck Balls, the ornaments are replicas of the male genitalia and hang from the back of a vehicle’s trailer hitch. To some the decorations are funny, but others find them offensive.
“We’ve got a little nephew, he’s 4. I’m sure if he sees it he’s going to be asking what it is you know” said Evan Davis of St. Petersburg.
Now a Virginia lawmaker is proposing a ban on the trailer decorations calling them “obscene” and a safety hazard because they can be distracting to other drivers. The lawmaker says violators of his ban would be fined $250. ~Source~
Another article said that a constituent of the Virginia politician in question had a six-year-old daughter who asked questions about a set of balls. Maybe the truck ball issue should be a wakeup call to backwoods parents who don't have the skills to explain anatomy--human or otherwise--to their children. These are plastic, and very colorful! It must take a wild imagination to find these offensive. Certainly simply observation can't offend--not even the simplest mind. So wake up Virginia! Set your politicians strait--tell them to keep their hands off our balls!
